{Journey of Recognition} Learning from other Artists

yesterday I went to a photography exhibition on a monastery and, to my surprise, my favorites photos were all black and white. I prefer colour on my photos but I decided to turn this one black and white. there were colour photos on the exhibition but they didn't speak to me. I was more interested on the minimalistic photos, with lots of space. these two were my favourites of them all:

what I've learn, thanks to other artists work, is that I have an eye! I found myself on their photos.

Black and white photos always attract me but I find myself steering away from them as well. Thanks for sharing what you have learned...I love the rose photo especially. Blessings!

When shooting film I always enjoyed keeping black and white film in one of my cameras.I really like to shoot it with snow pictures. You can explore themes like texture or symentery(as in the 1st pic)as well.

You have indeed found yourself in your reflections on the exhibition, Ana! It's inspiring that you've identified such clear parallels between your work and that you saw displayed.

Hi Ana it's wonderful when we get that clear moment that you understand why you do what you do .. I love the close ups...

Yay Ana! As soon as you wrote that you were attracted to minimalist photos with lots of space, I thought, "Just like you!" And there it is at the bottom of your post, you recognized it too. I'm so excited for you! It's amazing what we can learn about ourselves when we look at other artists work, isn't it?

I love black & white images because they focus your attention. It is wonderful how you "found" yourself in the exhibition. Your rosé photo is just beautiful.

Your architectural photograph is amazing. I love color, but there is something about black and white photography that you can't achieve any other way. Blessings!
